Workshops and Seminar Schedule

Six items from the Fresno Quilt Show. I went to the Fresno Quilt show this week. I went in my usual capacity as the designated driver. On the way to the show, I kept thinking about what to write about this show. I had already showcased the quilts in the Sacramento show. But this time I wanted to highlight the tools that make the job of quilting or sewing easier. After all, if I have learned anything, it is that the right tool will make any job easier. So I was looking at what kinds of tools would make the quilting or sewing tasks easier.

I talked to the different vendors about things that caught my eye. A folding table that goes from six inches deep to almost four feet long. A rip fence(my words) for sewing machines to keep seams straight. I also got to talk to a young man who is very versed in the gadgets of sewing. His name is Chris from Sharp Sewing Supplies. I asked him what are the items that he sells that he felt everyone who sews or quilts should have in their toolkits. He came up with three items on my list.

Kitchen Knives?

My last item is not about sewing or quilting it’s about kitchen knives. What caught my attention was how out of place it was at a quilt show. But I stopped to talk to the vendor. The vendor’s name is Donny and he was very personable and well knowledged in the product he is selling. What I found unique about this product is the outstanding customer support. What is it? Well they will come to your home to sharpen your Cutco knives or you can mail them in, it’s up to you. Coming to your home to sharpen your Cutco knives for life blew my mind. While I am at the booth several ladies were talking about their great experiences with this company. So it got added to the list.
