How not to bid on eBay

How not to bid on eBay, is it the right winning strategy for you? Are you new to eBay? Are the items you want slipping thru your digital fingers? Do you want a winning strategy? If you answered yes then you’ve arrived at the right place.

We’ve all had it happen to us. We see the item we want and we start bidding on it only to have someone else outbid us. I had this happen over and over. I kept thinking that there has to be a better way to win that coveted item.

IT was only when I didn’t bid on eBay that I finally started to win at auctions. Well, it’s true, but you ask how can you win if you don’t bid? Well, the answer lies in what happens in the last minute of the auction. You need to dust off your camouflage clothing, set a timer because you’re going to become a sniper.

You can easily check out what I am talking about by looking at the bid history of an item that has closed.

This is a classic sniper bid. It is placed just before the auction ends and if you know what your item is worth you can win it without having someone come behind you and outbid you. The time the bid is placed is critical. The timing of the winning bid does not let anyone else react your bid amount and respond to it. The only way you can be outbid is if someone has set an automatic bid that is higher than your bid.

So how do you set up your sniper’s toolbox?

eBay has it set up for you. Look at the page of the item you want to bid on. The page has a down counting clock located just above the bid amount box. This is the clock that you will use to time your bid placement. Fill out the amount in the bid box but do not “Place Bid” until the timing is right.
