Do your cords look like this?

Electrical cord storage without tangles? Is this your dream? You know how tangles can become exasperating when you need to use your electrical cords. If you coil it the cord can become tangled and in need of attention just when you want to use it.

Do your cords look like this?

This will rob your time from your project and increase your blood pressure in the process. Also, when storing the coiled cord you need to keep the coiled cord together to keep it from uncoiling this will require special handling. I use a different method. Let me explain.

Electrical Cord Storage Without Tools or Devices

My method does not use a coil. I don’t have to worry about the uncoiling process. You can store the cord without worry of tangles. Stuff it in a cubby hole without worry of tangles. Use as much as needed with the rest of the cord still “stored” in place. If I need more I pull on the cord and it uncoils enough length.

Welcome to the Chain Sinnet (Monkey Braid) Tying technique

The video shows tight loops. For my electrical cords, my loops probably use up 18″ or more of cord length per loop. You would not want such tight knots in your electrical cords as is shown in this video. But you definitely want to use this knot for your cord storage.

Let’s recap the advantages of using the chain sinnet knot

1  No coiling required.

2. No tangles ever.

3. Use your cord in a stored state.

4. Use as much cord length as needed by just pulling on the cord end without unwinding the whole cord.
