Why you should not be using edge for WordPress

I can tell you with authority that you should not be using Edge for WordPress. I started my website using Edge. My daughter who has a website for more than ten years advised me to switch to Chrome. She told me about the resize window and the add-ons(extensions). I didn’t get why one browser would be preferable over another. But she told me again that I should be using Chrome. I just took it as a personal preference choice and not really something that I needed to do.

But I have a Responsive theme

It wasn’t until recently(10 months after starting my website), that I began to understand why she was adamant about using Chrome. She always came back to the reason being that she could change screen size dynamically and check her work. I always assumed that if I had a responsive theme why would I need to use Chrome. Eventually I ran into some responsive problems that she had pointed out. Evidently, my theme was not taking care of the responsiveness.

I started by using my cell phone to check the work and see if things were doing what they ought to. But that was only one screen size, there are a bunch more. But it became a hassle as I would have to keep switching between the cell phone and my laptop. Back and forth, back and forth. I got the plugin WP Touch Mobile to make sure that my website would look good on mobile. But even with the plugin, I couldn’t be sure that my end product was what it needed to be.

I finally get Chrome

Recently I was developing some advertisement banners for my website when it finally hit home. I thought that they would be responsive. So I got Chrome and started using it when I was working on the banners. Using Chrome I could change screen size dynamically. Instantly I would know what my work looked like on different mobile screen sizes. Wow, just like that, I knew if I needed to do more work. No switching devices and I could check the IOS and android screens instantly.

One other thing that I like about Chrome are the extensions. I can use a grammar checking site as I write. My grammar mistakes show up as I write and I can clean up my mistakes quickly.

So I am adamant, you should not be using edge for WordPress. Use Chrome you will really like it.
